I've just been looking through my photos and videos of our trip to Canada and I am physically aching to go back. I can actually feel the sensation in my chest. It is so beautiful over there - in some ways i'd forgotten quite how stunning it is. Seeing the photos, and the videos in particular, have renewed my desire to move over there in the future. I can't wait to go back.

I've just spent a bit of time looking through this site which has loads of photos of plane flights over British Columbia.

In the 5 months since we were there, I'd in some ways forgotten quite how stunning beautiful that part of Canada is (see my background picture!). I can't wait to go back.

I just popped onto the wedding forum I used to post on, and someone has just posted an 'I'm engaged' thread, with a link to a picture of their engagement ring... their £4,275 engagement ring!! No offence meant at all to anyone who spent/spends that much on theirs but.... blimey!!

My first thought was "what a waste of money!" I just couldn't imagine spending that much money on a piece of jewellery, even one I'll wear forever. There are so much more important things you could spend on.... buying a house, saving for your children, even giving to charity. I can't believe someone has spent a lot more than our entire wedding (including rings!) cost on one ring. I'm stunned.

My second thought was... "we could get our kitchen and bathroom done for that amount of money!"... which is hopefully something that will actually happen in the next few months.

Feeling good at the moment. Teaching is going well, in 2 weeks Ben and I will be able to spend loads of time together over Christmas, and we're hopefully going out for a meal and a film tonight - yay!

I've spent the morning redesigning my website - it's almost there, apart from the fact i seem to be lacking a scroll bar on my teaching weblog page! that's all fine if you're viewing in mozilla, as the scroll still works, but if you're using ie, unfortunately you're stuck with my latest entry for now!

i love web design... it's the 'troubleshooting' i don't like so much...

edit: i've just worked out you can scroll by selecting the text and dragging down - not ideal, but at least it means scrolling's not completely dead...

edit2: after spending an hour working on the problem, i've now made it even worse! i have a vertical scroll bar in mozilla, but somehow i also have a redundant horizontal one that does nothing and makes the page look messy. and still nothing in ie....

i think i'm going to have some lunch and tackle this after neighbours.
