Why on earth is getting married so expensive?? Or rather, why on earth are people willing to pay so much to get married, hence encouraging hotels/stately homes/random buildings charging prices of titanic proportions?
We've been pricing out various wedding options, and it seems the cheapest (registry office, pub reception) is still going to set us back a couple of grand or so... and the most expensive.... well, that's over £6,000 just to hire the venue....!
We're trying (and luckily managing) not to loose sight of the whole point of 'our wedding day'. Ben and I want to spend the rest of our lives together... and we shouldn't have to pay thousands of pounds just to declare that to other people.
Southampton registry office here we come....
Oh yes, and I've got my engagement ring! It's gorgeous... although a weeny bit too big, so I might have to get it resized... again...
