Today the results of the 2005 USSU Sabbatical Elections will be announced - our successors' successors. It really doesn't seem like 2 years since I was elected... yet so much has happened since then.

I've been having a bit of a nostalgise today, having a read through rawson's creek from 2002-3. some of Chris's (funkyberry) writing is absolute comedy... he wrote about a dream he had, when he was so wiped out from elections he couldn't think of anything else, tea making races and stubborn poo... and one week he completely forgot to submit anything!

Chris is one of the funniest and most amazing guys i've ever met - can't believe I haven't seen him since June. I miss him and the other sabbs!

I'm glad I don't live in Iran....

P.S. Obviously nothing against Iran itself - it's just scary to think that something like that can happen!

This is rather cool.

You answer a load of questions and it tells you what your natural political 'leaning' is - I'm a Liberatarian leftie, up there with Ghandi, Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama!

Toby has been absolutely wonderful over the weekend - he's even 'inspired' me to get up at 7.30am for the past 3 days - for some reason giving him breakfast and letting him have a run around is much more enticing than staying in bed! And I'm not even a morning person... He's becoming more confident, and more used to our house - initially the wooden floors were a bit confusing to him, but now he seems to love bounding around and skidding along. He's a gorgeous heart-breaker of a bunny, and I could watch him for hours. :)

I'm counting the minutes until the end of the day when we can go home and give him the run of the living room...

Meet Toby, the youngest and newest
member of our family.

Well, after the last few months of ups and downs in my career-related life, it seems like everything is finally working out.

I haven't mentioned it on here, but back in October I applied to study for a Primary PGCE at Southampton... I had my interview last Friday, and I've just found out today that I have a place on the course (they have 450+ applicants for 140 places). I'm over the moon!

I have also resigned from my current job, and am meeting with 3 headteachers next week about working as a Classroom Assistant in their schools for the summer term. It's going to be a vast drop in salary, but to do something worthwhile it's definitely worth it.

So, I have 4 1/2 weeks left here, then 3 weeks off (paid annual leave, yay!), then hopefully I'll have work for the summer, before starting training to be a teacher in September. Wow! :)

Over the last few dyas I've felt really happy. not that I'm ever not for very long, but I've just felt especially good since Saturday.

On Saturday Ben and I went for a lovely walk around our 'village' - it's really a suburb of Southampton, but it's known as a village, and it really does have quite a villagey feel to it. We ended up walking down the shopping parade, and decided to pop into the pet shop - I can never pass one without going in! They had some waonderful animals in there... which got Ben and me thinking... and after a lot of talking/research, we've decided to increase our little family! Nope, we're not trying for a baby, we're adopting a baby.... rabbit! I've been emailing a breeder of mini lop rabbits, and she's sending me photos today of the male babies today (apparently they make better pets). She sent me a photo of one of their sisters yesterday....

Isn't she beautiful? We've looked at the money situation, and we can afford everything a bunny would need, and we're both really keen on it. I'm so excited... Sammie's going to be an older sister!!

A quote from Gary Linekar on TV just now, after a 0-0 draw between England and Holland:

"It wasn't quite the thriller at villa.... maybe they should have played at Birmingham City as it was absolutely sh...ocking!"

:D

It's been all go recently... I will update at some point though, when I've got my thoughts together... it's been a crazy few weeks, but i'm still happy and things with Ben and Sammie and the house are great... :)

It's been a while! Neither Ben nor I have been well recently - Ben was off work last Monday and Tuesday, then I caught what he had and was off on Friday and Monday! Wer're both on the road to recovery now, but it wasn't nice!

Life's all a bit crazy, and I'm having a bit of a dilemma with work... but that's another story. We saw my parents at the weekend, which was really nice, and also popped in on a few friends in Guildford on the way up to Croydon. We've built almost all our furniture, but haven't painted any more rooms... but the house is great! :)

Right, off to do more work...
