Ah, another weekend - yay! Ben's not been feeling well for teh past couple of days, but ahs struggled into work, so it'll be nice to relax with him this weekend - lots of sore throat medicine and paracetamol!

Actually, we need to go out and buy a washing machine, a cooker and loads of furniture, so it might not be that relaxing....!

Next weekend we're heading up to Guildford for a bit of a reunion, which should be cool - in my favourite restaurant ever - should be good. I think we're going to stay the night with my parents - although we haven't actually asked them yet (!) - and then head to ikea on the Sunday.

Think we'd better make the most of this weekend, cos the next one's going to be far from relaxing - should be good fun though. :)

Just a quick update on the house... as yet we still have no furniture, so until Satudary were sleeping on the floor with just a duvet between us and the slightly musty smelling carpet. What fun. But on Saturday Ben's parents came down for my concert and brought the foam mattress from their sofa bed - yay! Ikea should have delivered a week ago, so I forsee a slightly unhappy letter winging its way to their head office in the near future....!

This guy has been sacked from his job at Waterstones for the odd negative comment made about his boss and place of work on his weblog - blimey!

I wonder what I'd have to write on here to get kicked out of my job??! :D

The move on Friday went really well - we moved the majority of our stuff across in 2 van-loads, and on Saturday set to work stripping wallpaper off the main bedroom. By Monday it was all stripped, so after getting a quote for a new kitchen on monday morning, we set about painting the bedroom a funky purple colour. The house is wonderful, and is really starting to feel like 'ours'. We haven't got any furniture yet (bloody ikea!) so are still sleeping/eating at the flat, but our rent there finishes on Friday morning, so bed or no bed, we're going to be permanently at Chessel Crescent from Friday - very exciting.

Life's good. :)

Well, it seems the stress of house-buying, which everyone talks about, has held off until now - and then hit us with full force!! Today we've had all sorts of issues with the gas and electricity stuff, but have hopefully come out of it ok - the vendors have agreed to pay for the repairs, if we complete on Friday - which is exactly what we want to do. Now I'm waiting for a completion time from our solicitors, Ben has booked a van, and when I have a time I am going to book the gas company to come round and mend the leak on Friday afternoon. It's a wee bit stressful, but quite exciting as well - although I'm not getting much work done at the moment, and I have a prospectus to finish by tomorrow!

*edit* looks like we'll be completed between 12noon and 1pm on Friday - so I've booked the gas engineer for 2pm - wow, in 2 days we could be in our own (very cold) house!

So, subject to the mending of a gas leak and a couple of electrical things, we should be moving into our new house in THREE DAYS! Yes, from Friday 7th January (our year and a half anniversary, incidentally) Ben and I should be living in our very own house. And we can't wait. :)
