It's finally here - the last day of work before Christmas!! Work's been ok for the past few days, but I'll definitely be glad to have a few days off. When we travelled in this morning it was still dark and tipping it down with rain - not fun.

On the house from: we're waiting for confirmation today from our solicitors on moving dates, but if all goes to plan, we could be moving in in THREE weeks! It's very exciting. We're trying to arrange visiting again, so we can measure up the fridge space etc - fingers crossed we can get that in in time to buy some stuff in the sales! I can't believe we're going to be living in our own house (hopefully) within a month. We're all grown up!

Yesterday we received a huge pack of information from our solicitor - contract, transfer forms, deeds, guarantees, maps etc - very exciting! We've signed all we need to sign and are getting it back to them today, so it looks like we might be able to move into our lovely little nungalow early in the new year - very exciting! It was very cool seeing the maps of the original land before the road was built (in 1930ish) and the names of previous owners. And seeing the price that the sellers paid for the place just over 2 years ago, it seems like we got a good deal! :)

Yesterday we had our Student Marketing Christmas meal out, which was good fun. The people I work with are a nice bunch, and it was good to spend time with them in an 'out of the office' setting.

Not long until Christmas now - it officially starts for us at 5pm tomorrow! Tomorrow night we're off our with some of Ben's ex-work mates, and on Saturday night it's his sister's 21st birthday party - in a tent in their garden! We've been told there will be outdoor heaters, but I'm taking the full works - gloves, hat scarf...! Should be good fun. Can't wait to have 17 days off - I definitely need it...

Well, this weekend really must take the prize for the most lazy relaxing weekend ever. Ben and I didn't leave that flat at all from arriving home from work on Friday, to heading out this morning. We watched some X Files episodes, slept a lot, cooked some lovely meals, watched tv... and not a lot else. We're both feeling really run down from work recently, so we definitely needed it. Now the count is on for Friday at 5pm when Christmas officially begins - woo!

And what about work? Well, it's stressful - not what you need when it's almost Christmas. I'll leave it at that for fear of ranting...

I have an hour and a half left of work today, then a 3 hour orchestra rehearsal, and my brain is absolutely and completely addled. I feel like I could drop off to sleep at any moment, even though I got almost 8 hours of kip last night. My brain just won't work as I want it to! :(

It's definitely time for the Christmas holidays....

So, the end of another week is almost upon up... and it can't come soon enough! i've been having problems with my eyes this week, and am struggling with looking at the computer screen all day, so a rest over the weekend will be very welcome.

It's absolutely freezing here at the moment, as i'm sure it is all over the country. ben and i normally spend our lunchtimes walking around campus and the surrounding area, but it's been just too cold to do that lately. roll on summer!

Only 2 weeks left before we "break up" for Christmas - really looking forward to having a break, seeing ben's and my families... and maybe moving into our new house?!
