This morning, before work, we popped in to Nationwide to finalise our mortgage - and everything was fine and dandy. We haven't got our survey back yet, so we're still waiting to be sure that our house isn't built on a rubbish tip or about to fall apart, but hopefully that'll be fine. Now we just need to get all the legal stuff done and we'll be the proud owners of a lovely 3 bed bungalow. :)

Work's trundling along - only 14 work days until Christmas! I'm really looking forward to having 17 solid days with no work - it's my 22nd week here and I'm definitely in need of a bit of a break. However, we're still no closer to working out what we're actually going to do over Christmas...

My poor old icklesarah.co.uk seems to have disappeared... could be because I hadn't paid my doman renewall fee though! Popped onto supanames.co.uk and have done it now, though, so never fear....!

All's going well on the house front - we've got ourselves a solicitor, sorted our (possibly) final mortgage appointment, worked out the cheapest house insurance company (£140 a year cheaper than the stuff nationwide tried to sell us with the mortgage!) and it looks like we should be able to move in around the start of January - fingers crossed...

We're off to see Blood Brothers this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be the third time I've seen it (once in London, once in Woking) but I don't think I could ever get bored of it.

We've had an offer accepted on a converted bungalow 2 miles from the University... and a damn good offer at that. Now we're just keeping our fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong...

It's all go at the moment! :)

This week Ben and I had the busiest weekend in ages... with fireworks in Porton, a mortgage appointment and meeting up with various people in Guildford, amongst other things. It was really great to get back to Guildford - it's been almost 5 months since we left. It was especially great to see Neil and Matt, 2 of my closest friends from last year, who are doing an amazing job with union media this year, especially since the departure of my sucessor a couple of weeks ago. We went on a pub crawl with them and some other friends, and had a wonderful night - so amazing to see everyone again.

Our next exciting thing is on Saturday, when we have our first two appointments to view houses!! We've found 2 places which look really nice, a couple of miles from the University, and both within our price range. I am so so excited!

This week has gone rather faster than normal… maybe due to the fact that in spending lunch and commuting time with Ben, we’re getting an extra 2 hours together every day... which is wonderful!

Today we get to leave work at 3pm due to an electrical shutdown, and Ben and I are heading up to Porton to see the fireworks, as we did last year. Tomorrow's going to be an exciting day, as we have our first mortgage appointment and after that are heading up to Guildford to meet up with some friends for a few hours, then go on a pub crawl with some of our other friends. We haven't been there since we left in June, so it should be quite cool.

Only 4 hours til the weekend!

Wow, it's been a while! This weekend my sister was visiting, and we took her to a theatre to see Fame. T'was excellent, apart from the 4 people directly in front of us, who seemed to think we'd paid our £17.50 each to see them talking and singing along, as opposed to the actors on stage! People like that *really* annoy me - when I see a show I want to immerse myself in it, not be constantly distracted by the people in front of me!!

Anyway...

It's Ben's first day in his new job today, and i can't wait to find out how it all goes. I'm sure he'll be absolutely wonderful. :)

p.s. I found out on Friday that my successor as VP Comms at USSU had just resigned. I know how tough the job can be, and I really hope she's ok..... :(
