Well, I really can't believe it. The 2004 sabbatical elections have finished, and the count is now well underway in the HRB. I remmeber this time last year vividly. After lunch and taking down all the posters, Pete and I were called up due to (completely unfounded) complaints made against me (and a little one against him). After a lot of nail biting, that was all cleared up as a last ditch attempt by one of our competitors to win the elections, and we headed off with a group of friends to go bowling. It was the best thing we could have done and really took our minds off the impending results.

We came back at about 4.30pm, but due to loads of delays, we didn't actually get the results until 8.30pm!! During that time we sat in channie's (i vividly remember drinking a malibu and coke) and because Pete was getting so stressed, him, me and Claire headed up to the Activities Centre to 'chill'. Noone could understand it, as the count was going on in the Committee room only a couple of metres away from us, but it really was the calmest place to be.

Eventually the results were announced, and the Dream Team (as we were dubbed not by ourselves) were all elected. This is been probably the most amazing year of my life - lots of highs, quite a few hours, not much sleep, and working with some amazing people. I can't believe the next team will be known in only a few hours - i wonder if they really know what they're letting themselves in for??

A special mention to one of my bestest friends Matt(ypoo) Stedeford - he's recently launched a website at www.stedeford.com with details about all his music on it. He's an absolutely amazing composer and sound recorder, who I met when studying Physics in my 1st year, lived with for 2 years, and is now studying Music at Brunel (he saw sense after almost 4 years of Physics)!!

Great site. Great Music, Great guy. :)

Elections have started and I'm knackered and am in desperate need of a holiday. I'm the only one working on a 24 page paper this week. I'm not allowed to walk through the activities centre with my jumper on cos it has 4 small stickers on it. My desk is a mess. I miss Ben, even though he's only on the other side of Guildford. I want to live in Southampton. I want to live happily ever after with my lovely boyfriend.... not long now.........

You're Perfect ^^
You're the perfect girlfriend. Which means you're rare or that you cheated :P You're the kind of chick that can hang out with your boyfriend's friends and be silly. You don't care about presents or about going to fancy placed. Hell, just hang out. You're just happy being around your boyfriend.

What Kind of Girlfriend Are You?

hehe - I wonder if Ben agrees! ;o) :ox Well, he's definitely my perfect boyfriend..... :)

Yesterday was an important day for ickle sarah. It marked the 5 year anniversary of the first day I ever set foot in Surrey University - 16th February 1999. It seems an age ago, and I guess it is. It was during elections week, when our current Deputy General Manager, Andy Blair, was standing for election into my current job. Definitely ages ago! ;o)

Thigns are hotting up in the Union - voting week is next week - crazy stuff!

Just want to give a big well done to the comedy crew from GU2. Today I was listening to GU2 radio and I suddenly heard my name.... and swiftly realised that it was a comedy radio soap opera entitled "The Sabbaticals". Pure comedy genius - and thanks for my copy on CD guys!!

I remember about a year ago, my predecessor to the job of Vice President Communications (and Marketing) wrote in his USSU weblog "I wish the end of the year was now".

I'm starting to feel like that. :'(

So, it seems there are four people who want my job next year. Crikey. It's all a little strange, thinking that elections are back again. It seems only yesterday that the 5 of us were elected... yet it was 7th March 2003! However, i'm finding myself looking forward to the summer more and more now....

Only 47 hours left for you to get your nomination form in to become next year's Vice President Communications of USSU! For me, Campaigning week was the most amazing week of my entire time at University - I pretty much loved every minute of it. Just think, you could be out there in 3 weeks, running round campus trying to persuade people to vote for you using everything from good ole posters to tea bags. It really is an absolutely amazing experience, both standing for election and being a sabbatical.

So, what're you waiting for? Pop in and see me TODAY, grab your nomination form and 5 signatures and GO FOR IT!
