Wow, I can't believe it's over a week since I last wrote in this 'ere weblog. I guess it's because I've been a pretty damn busy bunny - last week was the final week of sabbatical handover, and I was working pretty long hours.

The last week was very different to the other two, and to be honest at some points I felt just like a 16 year old work experience student, but it was worth it. I spent time with Rich, asking lots of questions and discussing loads of stuff, and he's made me a really comprehensive folder with pretty much everything I need to know in it.

This weekend, however, was a break from everything... On Saturday I met around 30 other Union peeps at Channie's, and we headed off to Joss Bay near Margate for a mini-break! By the time all the 'extra' people (in cars) had arrived, we had about 50 people camping in tents on the beach. It was a really cool couple of days, and I have the red shoulders, tired eyes and headache from too much sun to prove it!

See for yourself.... my photos are up HERE!

And the next exciting thing? Tomorrow I start at the University of Surrey Students' Union as Vice President Communications & Marketing... no more 'elect' on the end, every time I write that! And you know what? I can't wait.....

About 10 minutes ago I got a call from Pete telling me that he and Mental were up the hill, trying out their new tents for Joss Bay.... and I can see them from my window! How groovy! :)

(by the way.. the little blob the arrows pointing to is actually them, and their 2 blue and grey tents. Ah, the wonders of digital cameras!)

Well, D Day has arrived... the day I have worked towards for 4 long years. Today, I graduate with a Bachelor of Music Degree, Upper Second Class. It's a scary thought... it's all come to an end. I've done it, at last. :)

I've not got anything particularly stunning to write at the moment - this week is our University Week of handover, which has involved meeting a lot of University staff, talking a bit about our ideas for the next year, and eating a lot of posh food! Tomorrow we're off to visit Roehampton, which should be pretty cool - i've only ever driven past before, and it'll be good to meet their sabbs and see their Union.

I normally like hot weather, but today's been crazy - really dull, but soooo hot (especially when you're stuck in the committee room all afternoon, with only a small fan on the other side of the room)! Think it's going to rain tomorrow, though, so i shouldn't really be complaining about today, I guess.

Anyhow, I've been getting nowhere near enough sleep recently, so I'm going to bid farewell to Chops, whom I'm talking to online, log off the 'net, and get myself some beauty sleep...

G'night all! :)

I wonder if anyone reads this thing?

I guess I kinda write here for myself (pouring your thoughts out on paper/the net is vaguely theraputic), but I sometimes wonder if other people read my very random ramblings here....?

I'm just about to head off to bed, after 16, yes 16 hours at work (a sabb team building/training event in Godalming) but I thought i'd write something quickly.

Today has been amazing! I am knackered beyond belief, (only got back half on hour ago, and have to be at work in 7 1/2 hours) but I have learnt such a lot today, and got to know the other 4 sabb elects so much better. I have never ever been on a training event that has been so useful before, and I hope tomorrow is as good (training with the senior management).

Today ended with a photo challenge around Godalming, to put into practice the things we had learnt about team work, and our roles within a team, during the day. It was the most fun hour I have had in ages... hopefully Chris'll be putting up all the photos of today on funkyberry.com soon, and you can see just how much we got up to day...

Roll on tomorrow.... now.... bed time! :)

It's still going really well - yesterday's 'constitution day' with Rich, Paul & Andy was really interesting, and today we're off for some 'teambuilding' in Godalming! We had some really interesting discussions yesterday, and everyone's got some really good ideas for the next year. It's amazing.

But I still think the best thing to come out of yesterday was Chris' idea that we should rename the Union Constitution to 'Ed', to make it seem more approachable!! :D

Well, there is goes... the day I have been waiting for for over three years. Yup, I've just finished my first day of handover period as Vice President Communications & Marketing (Elect) at USSU.

And.... it was amazing!

I had a really great day... lots of food, lots of information, and some really great people. It's going to be a good year, I can feel it....

I've just come back from a fantastic three days visiting Ian and Rachel in Knockholt. It was so nice to get away from Guildford for a while... we went to visit Christmas Tree farm, spent both evenings in their local the 'Tally Ho' (I actually drank them out of blackcurrant cordial for my cider and black!) and attempted to fly a 6 foot kite twice... but Ian was the only one who could keep it up.

Ian and Rachel - I had a really great time, thanks for having me to stay! :o)

Now THIS is scary...

Someone put in a search for 'cardigan fetish' in the Italian altavista site (according to my site stats) - and the first website that came up was www.icklesarah.co.uk!!
