I seem to be shivering ever so slightly as I sit her writing this 'ere weblog. My room's not particularly cold, but damnit, I am! My hads are cold, I'm cold... I think I'll get into my nice cosy bed soon and drop off to sleep. I've done something horrendous to my sleeping patterns over the past couple of weeks, but I suppose that's what the life of a student is for. I can't believe we only ahve 10 days left before term starts. Whatever happened to my lovely resolution of getting my jazz project, 3 compostions and a load of other stuff done before term starts? I really need to get my arse into gears and finish some work. I've had approval for my project title today, so hopefully I'll be able to spend a good chunk of tomorrow working on it. Then I need to rustle up some ideas for a couple of compositions, and get my Joyce Dixey Competition one done asap. The composition competition is the week after elections... so can't see me having much time to finish it off at the last minute like last year! And barefacts needs to be done at the end of next week. Blimey I need a good kick up the behind.
It snowed yesterday. It snowed and it was wonderful. I've been waiting for it to snow properly whilst I'm on campus for 3 1/2 years, and as soon as I woke up and looked out of the window at the glorious whiteness I was out there, wrapped up and taking many, many photos. Amazingly, I've already put them up on the web here - all nice and resized too, aren't I nice?! The lake area looked so wonderful, and the actual lake was covered in ice and snow - the only unbroken snow on campus (before Adam decided to throw a snowball right intp the middle). There were loads of international students out taking photos in the morning, and by afternoon all the UK students were out throwing snowballs at eachother and building rather rude snowmen (and women). Adam, Neil, Neil's friend Jules and I set to work on a snow sheep in between the goalposts on the Twyford field, which turned out rather impressively, seeing the amound of snow that was being thrown by and at its sculpturs during the construction process.
Here we go - mr Fat Snowsheep. Isn't he great?!
Anyway, I'm slightly less chilly now so I'm going to make my way across my room (all 2 feet of it) to my bed and disappear off to the land of nod... for at least 6 hours!
