I've just been asleep for 2 hours! I've had a tummy ache (grrr...) so decded the only way to forget about it was to sleep, and it worked. Rich and I sorted out what was needed for barefacts earlier this evening, then I came home and crashed. Need to write some articles soon, before a long day of laying up and writing tomorrow. I'm still enjoying it (luckily)! It's kinda like my drama has been over the last 3 years - the thing that keeps me going through everything else. If I didn't have barefacts to do this year there would definitely be something missing from my life. It's so great to have found my niche this year. :o)
I have jazz coursework to do. The deadling is geting nearer. :oS I'm going to have to get it done on Wednedsay - expect it's going to be a later nighter (again). I've been up late (and we're talking about 4am) for about the past week. It's crazy. I think I do things better past midnight. Yeah, I'm a weird girl....
Last night I was leading the concert of the University of Surrey Symphony Orchestra, and it was pretty damn good. The first piece, Vaughan Williams "Wasps Overture" wasn't quite as good as it could have been, as we were quite cold and it was hard to play all those trills, but we did our best. Then the Lieberman flute concerto wasn't bad, though it was the hardest and most underrehearsaed piece we did. Then, after the interval, Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony was AMAZING! I really enjoyed playing and leading that, and I think everyone else did too, judging my some of the comments on the Music Department Bulletin Board. It gave me such a buzz to play it. It was the most rehearsed piece we did, and Ollie is a very good conductor - you really feel he's in there in the think of it all, as opposed to leading from afar. Adam came to watch and so did my parents, which was good. T'was good that Adam came, even though he had to stay up til 5am doing coursework (not quite so good...!) There's no orchestra tomorrow night, but string orchestra restarts on Thursday, and I think I'm leading some of that. I need to get hold of the music, cos I think there are some difficult solos in the pieces we're doing. No rest for the wicked!
Righty ho, where was I? Ah yes... barefacts.... articles... let's get started! Actually, I really need some food first....
